TASSIMO T20 Brewbot: Review & Giveaway!

CONTEST CLOSED. Congratulations to #95, Aubrey!  Aubrey, you have 24 hours to respond to my email before I draw someone else.

I was beyond excited when I was contacted to review the new TASSIMO T20 Brewbot by Bosch. Even though I don’t drink coffee (I know, I know!) I often make my husband’s coffee for him when he has a late class or otherwise asks me to make it. With the TASSIMO T20 Brewbot? No more coffee making for me!!

T20

Before I get to my review, let me fill you in on the specs.

The Brewbot:

– Makes coffee, tea, cappuccino, latte, crema, espresso, and hot cocoa
– Makes drinks in about 1 minute (1 minute!!)
– Includes an exclusive flow-through water heater for faster, quieter brewing
– Was designed with space saving in mind. At mere 7 pounds, it’s 11.0″ in length, 7.9″ in width, and 11.8″ in depth, which makes it ideal for apartments, dorm rooms, and counter tops
– Contains a 1.5 Liter water tank
– Has a retail value of $129.99

The cool thing about the Brewbot is that through patented technology developed and designed by Kraft Foods, the TASSIMO brewer reads the bar code printed on each T DISC (this is the little disc that actually contains the coffee, hot cocoa, etc.) to ensure optimal brewing conditions, including the exact water amount and temperature. Because the brewing takes place inside the T DISC, consumers can prepare different drinks, one after another, with no flavor transfer from cup to cup, ensuring first-cup freshness and consistent taste every time. And all this occurs with the touch of ONE button.

Speaking of T DISCS, TASSIMO offers more than 40 beverage and flavor varieties to satisfy everyone with 13 distinctive beverage brands including Milka, Gevalia, Maxwell House, Suchard, Mastro Lorenzo, Twining’s®, Kenco, Jacob’s, TAZO®, Nabob, Carte Noire, and Seattle’s Best Coffee®. TASSIMO even satisfies your coffee-house coffee cravings with a great variety of Starbucks brands, which makes my husband very happy.

My Thoughts

When the box arrived, I was like a little kid again. I couldn’t wait to open it. Even though I don’t drink coffee, the Brewbot is an appliance, and I love appliances. I was pleasantly surprised at how small it is. Our current coffee maker takes up a good portion of our counter top. The Brewbot comes in both black and white. I was sent a white brewer, with an additional color accessory kit in lime green, to liven up my brewer.

The Brewbot is quick and easy. I can’t stress quick and easy enough. My mom, perhaps the #1 coffee addict that I know, had no problem operating the Brewbot.  You simply place the T DISC in the top compartment, snap it shut, and push a button.  Voila.  That’s it.

The Pros

I love that it’s small, quiet, easy, and quick!

The Cons

The only downside, from my husband’s point of view, was that the T DISC he tried wasn’t strong enough for his taste, and he thought that should he have to use two T DISCs to get the coffee to his liking, it might be more expensive than his current coffee habit. We’re going to try a Starbucks T DISC in the flavor he normally purchases to see if that might help.

Overall, the Brewbot is an amazing brewer that would be a great addition to any coffee or tea lover’s home.

The Tassimo T20 Brewbot is available at many fine retailers such as Bed Bath & Beyond, Walmart, Target, and more.
